AAHA or Aberdeen Area Horseman’s Association: This is a great group of horsy peoples right close to us 45 minutes to the south in Aberdeen, SD. Our youngest kiddo, Audri has competed pretty aggressively there since she was nine years old. The shows are held at the Brown County Fairgrounds. One is usually done at the same time as the fair. Audri usually finishes pretty strong there. This year she finally got the Jr division All-Around Rider and High Point Performance Horse. AAHA has really been a good place for her to focus on doing several events in one day. They offer a mixture of Show events and rodeo events. So it is a pretty cool circuit for the beginner or advanced rider! For the past two years we have sponsored the fall futurity saddle at the end of the season in September.

ND State Wrangler Junior High Rodeo: This series of rodeos Audri competed in for just a couple of years during seventh and eight grade. Again to get the work out about our feed tubs we did a product donation of tube. The first year we gave away a bit over $1000.00 worth of filled 60 lb. feed pans with our #4 Equi Licks formulation + DE. We did another give away of $2,500.00 worth of flat back buckets in 2007. This is a super place for rural kids to hone their skills of rodeo events. It is so much fun to see them grow into active competitors later on.

NDHSRA or North Dakota High School Rodeo Association: Fall of 2007 “The kid” started to compete at the High School level. WOW – those kids are amazing to watch! Most are from the west side of the state and a few from the eastern side on Montana. There are not many of us coming from the eastern side of the state. There are just a handful of rodeo families on this side! It would be great to see more youth from any side of the state competing. They had about 170 kids this year. The numbers are stronger in SD and even more in NE, not mention even further south like OK and TX. These kids really compete hard. We have been very fortunate along our travels to make great friends that help us new “Non-rodeo families” out. We are very, very grateful for that!  Thanks again Gjermundsons!
